## Summary

The _**Ratios**_ section comes pre-populated with a set of helpful financial ratios from one of MindBridge's [default libraries](https://support.mindbridge.ai/hc/en-us/articles/360056329574). Each ratio uses algebraic operations, meta values, and constants to provide a quick snapshot of an entity’s financial performance.

These default ratios are grouped into 3 categories: **Activity**, **Going concern**, and **Profitability**. You can update and remove default ratios from your custom libraries as desired. Plus, you can create custom ratios tailored to your team’s needs and methodologies, as well as create unique categories to group them, allowing you to streamline your analytical processes and enhance efficiency across your organization.

**Note:** Changes made to the _Ratios_ section within a given library, including ratios being created, duplicated, updated, or deleted, will not appear in existing engagements using that library. To see your changes in action, you must [create a new engagement](https://support.mindbridge.ai/hc/en-us/articles/360055739694) (or [roll forward](https://support.mindbridge.ai/hc/en-us/articles/360061700433) or [duplicate](https://support.mindbridge.ai/hc/en-us/articles/360058013433-The-Data-page-Overview-GL-AP-AR#h_01HGBYMNWY0Y8AKDFQNHA2KWB0) an analysis into a new engagement). All ratios in the library you select will be copied into the engagement _as they exist at that point in time_.

**Note:** While the library is limited to _App Admins_, other roles can create and manage ratios within the [_engagement settings_](https://support.mindbridge.ai/hc/en-us/articles/360056329674-Engagement-settings-Ratios), as well as [create new ratios via the _Ratios_ dashboard](https://support.mindbridge.ai/hc/en-us/articles/360056329674-Engagement-settings-Ratios). Engagement-and analysis-level ratios can also be added to the library as needed so they can then be used in future engagements.

## Go to _Ratios_ in the library

**Note:** Only _App Admins_ can view and manage these library settings. [Learn about user roles](https://support.mindbridge.ai/hc/en-us/articles/360056394954)

1. Select **Admin** (  ) near the bottom of the MindBridge [sidebar](https://support.mindbridge.ai/hc/en-us/articles/360056334994) on the left side of the screen. You will go to the _User Management_ tab in the _Admin settings by default_.
2. Go to the **Libraries** tab. You will see a list of libraries available in your tenant.
3. Open the **Actions** menu in line with the library you want to see.
4. Select **View Library**. You will go to the _Library details_ tab on the _Libraries_ page.
5. Select the **General ledger** tab. You will go to _Analysis configuration_.
6. Select **Ratios** in the menu on the left. You will see a list of all pre-built and custom financial ratios available for use.

### View a ratio

Use the **chevron** icon (  ) in line with a **category** to reveal its ratios.

Use the **chevron** icon (  ) in line with a **ratio** to reveal its formula.

### Find a ratio

Enter a full or partial search term into the **search bar**, then press **enter** on your keyboard or select the **search** icon (  ) to start the search.

## Create a ratio

Create ratios in the library based on your organization's needs and methodology.

1. Select **Create ratio** within a relevant category (such as _Activity_, or _Going Concern_). A form window will appear.

**Note:** If you don't see an appropriate category, use any **Create ratio** button — the form will allow you to create a new category.

2. Enter a **Ratio name**.
3. Select a **Category** from the menu, or enter your own with your keyboard then press **enter/return** to save it.
4. Enter **Additional details** in the text box.
5. Use the **Add** menu to select conditions (e.g., accounts, numerators and denominators, etc.) to build out your ratio as desired.

6. Select **Create Ratio**. The new ratio will appear in your library and you will go back to the _Ratios_ section.

Select **Cancel** at any time to discard the ratio and return to the _Ratios_ section.

## Edit a ratio

Edit ratios in the library to change their parameters.

1. Select the **edit** icon ( ) in line with the ratio you want to update. A form window will appear.
2. Adjust the **Ratio name**, **Category**, **Additional details**, and **conditions** as needed.

3. Select **Save** to apply your changes. The ratio will be updated and you will go back to the _Ratios_ section.

## Duplicate a ratio

Duplicate ratios to manipulate them without impacting the original version.

1. Select the **duplicate** icon (  ) in line with the ratio you want to duplicate. A form window will appear, populated with duplicated information.
2. Adjust the **Ratio name**, **Category**, **Additional details**, and **conditions** as needed.

3. Select **Save**. The new ratio will appear in your library and you will go back to the _Ratios_ section.

## Delete a ratio

Delete ratios from the library as needed.

1. Select the **delete** icon (  ) in line with the ratio you want to delete. A confirmation window will appear.
2. Select **Confirm** to permanently delete the selected ratio. The ratio will be deleted and you will go back to the _Ratios_ section.
