## Summary

MindBridge streamlines the sampling process by allowing you to create **risk-stratified,** **random, MUS** and **target** samples from the _Data table_ dashboard. Samples are automatically added to the [_Audit Plan_](https://support.mindbridge.ai/hc/en-us/articles/360056330814) as samples that you can review and follow up on with your team. ## Create a random or risk stratified sample

**Note:** If you have an [advanced filter](https://support.mindbridge.ai/hc/en-us/articles/360057583133) applied, samples will be created within the context of the given filter's parameters.

01. On the _Data table_ dashboard, use the **View** menu (located above the table on the left side) to select whether you want to create samples from **Entries** (default) or **Transactions**.
02. Open the **Actions** menu near the top-right of the page.
03. Select **Create sample**.

A pop-up window will appear.
04. Open the **Sampling Method** menu and select the method you want to use:

   - **Risk Stratified**: This sampling method uses risk scores to stratify the data in the data table.
   - **Random**: This sampling method selects entries or transactions at random from the data table.
   - **MUS**: This sampling method uses each dollar in a population as a separate sampling unit. [Learn more about MUS](https://support.mindbridge.ai/hc/en-us/articles/32432735864471).
   - **Target**: This sampling method allows you to select specific entries directly from the data table and generate a sample consisting of those items. [Learn more about Target sampling](https://support.mindbridge.ai/hc/en-us/articles/32477730183063-Target-Sampling).
05. Select the **Audit area(s)** you want to include.

You can choose as many as you need.
06. Enter a **name** for your sample selection.
07. Select the **Assertion(s)** for this sample.
08. Enter the desired **Sample size**.

The risk levels below are populated automatically.
09. Select **Generate statistics** to see the scope and impact of the current sample.

A summary of the generated sample appears, as well as a chart showing the total debits and credits in the sample for each risk level.
10. When you are satisfied, select **Add to audit plan**.

All of the entries/transactions generated in the sample can be found in the Audit plan.
