## Resolution

### Verify that the years in your date column(s) are correct

1. If all years are within a 25 year range, you can choose to ignore MBER1193 and MBER1194.
   - **Note:** These are warnings, but could alert you to possible errors.
2. Most out-of-range years (such as 2209) are typos or other minor errors — consult with your client.

### Check for invalid date formats or invalid values (MBER1134)

Sometimes dates in an Excel column do not appear in the same format, including being in an Excel numeric format (i.e., a number that represents the Excel value of the date).

1. Select the entire column, then select Format > Cells (keyboard shortcut **Ctrl-1** on PC or **⌘1** on Mac)
2. Select **Number**, then **Date**, then select Type: **YYYY-MM-DD.**

You can also check for invalid values, including letters, text, errors such as #N/A, #VALUE!, #NAME?

- The presence of letters/text could indicate that some column data was shifted over, and/or has broken lines (an entry that should be on one row got split into two or more rows, often due to newline or carriage return characters within a field).
- Ask your client for a better data export if you find more than a few shifted columns or broken lines.
