## Summary

The _**Account and additional data**_ section of a GL analysis (accessed on the _Data_ page) allows you to import optional mapping files for your accounts and the different segments of your data.

For example, importing a _Chart of Accounts_ may be beneficial if you have [split account numbers](https://support.mindbridge.ai/hc/en-us/articles/360056395794). Similarly, if you have added [columns for filtering](https://support.mindbridge.ai/hc/en-us/articles/360058269853) during the import process (such as _Region_ or _User ID_), you can import mapping files to teach MindBridge how to interpret and display the given data in your analysis results. This allows for more tailored and meaningful representations of your data, enhances traceability and accountability, and improves the clarity and utility of your dashboards and filters.

## Go to the _Data_ page

1. Select the **logo** in the MindBridge [sidebar](https://support.mindbridge.ai/hc/en-us/articles/360056334994). You will go to the _Organizations_ page.
2. Select **View** in line with the desired organization, or click anywhere in the organization row. You will go to the _Engagements_ page.
3. Select **View** in line with the desired engagement, or click anywhere in the engagement row. You will go to the _Data_ page for that particular engagement.

**Tip:** If you are already in an analysis, use the sidebar to go to the **Data** page ( ).

## Format the data

To ensure your filters are correctly labeled within MindBridge's analysis results, format the file into 2 columns:

- The given **code**
- The associated **label**

In the example image below, there is a column for _"Region ID" codes_ and a column that indicates the _name of the corresponding region_. Importing this mapping file would ensure that any occurrence of the code “2000” will instead be displayed as “Toronto” across the MindBridge platform.

## Select files to import

Once you have added columns for filtering, the _Account data_ section at the bottom of the analysis (on the _Data_ page) will update to "Account and additional data" and any columns you have added for filtering will appear here, ready to receive files.

For example, if you added the "Company code" column for filtering, the analysis would then allow you to import a "Company code mapping" file to help make filtering more intuitive.

MindBridge supports several ways to select and import data.

### Method 1: Drag and drop or browse

1. On the _Data_ page, drag and drop files from your computer into the appropriate rows of the _Account and additional data_ section, or select **Browse...** for it on your computer. MindBridge will begin validating the file upon selection.
2. Once the file has loaded, select **Continue**. You will go to the [first step in the import process](https://support.mindbridge.ai/hc/en-us/articles/360058269813-Import-additional-data#h_01J5P7TA4QNVVFHS86FR84Q8PG).

### Method 2: Browse file manager

1. On the _Data_ page, select **Browse...** in the appropriate rows of the _Account and additional data_ section.
2. Select **Browse file manager** from the menu. A selection window appears.
3. Select the file you want to use.
4. When you are satisfied, select **Import**. MindBridge will begin validating the file.
5. Once the file has loaded, select **Continue**. You will go to the [first step in the import process](https://support.mindbridge.ai/hc/en-us/articles/360058269813-Import-additional-data#h_01J5P7TA4QNVVFHS86FR84Q8PG).

## Step 1: Data validation

This is the first step of the import process, where you can verify the accuracy and completeness of the data by reviewing [file details](https://support.mindbridge.ai/hc/en-us/articles/4404280793879-Data-Validation-Overview#h_01HFS6HCPQ0N1XJKTTHQZ25Y2T) and [integrity checks](https://support.mindbridge.ai/hc/en-us/articles/4404280793879-Data-Validation-Overview#h_01HFS6HCPR5CPSRXZXK042MZS1) performed on the data. You can reveal additional details by expanding the [column preview](https://support.mindbridge.ai/hc/en-us/articles/4404280793879-Data-Validation-Overview#h_01HFS6HCPR8PVK596YQW9FX97J) section. These details can help you determine whether the data has critical issues, or if you can proceed with it as it is.

When you are satisfied that the data is correct, select **Next** to proceed to the _Map Columns_ step.

---

## Step 2: Map columns

This step allows you to map data fields from the imported file to MindBridge's required columns, so MindBridge can effectively read, understand, and apply analytics to the data.

MindBridge will attempt to map columns based on their name, so it's important to verify that all mappings are correct.

1. Drag and drop a field from **Your Data Column Headers** to the appropriate field beneath **Mapped Columns**.
2. When you are satisfied, select **Next** to proceed. The import will be finalized and you will go back to the _Data_ page.

To exit the mapping process, select **Close** to go back to the _Data_ page without saving your changes.

---

## Additional data in your analysis results

Once you have [run an analysis](https://support.mindbridge.ai/hc/en-us/articles/360058012013), your filters will display the code and label from the additional data that was imported.

**Note:** When filtering, if a column contains more than 10,000 unique values, you will not be able to import or apply an _Additional data_ file, and the filter will only return values from the original file.
