# Questions? We have answers.

## Summary

This guide will take a slightly different approach than the rest of our general ledger transformation articles. Rather than a step by step process, we will outline some of the ideas behind formatting a SAP DART ledger. As some of the steps can be quite complicated, we do not necessarily recommend you attempt these changes to the general ledger yourself unless you already have a deep understanding of the data you wish to format. Instead, we would recommend you [raise a support ticket](https://support.mindbridge.ai/hc/en-us/articles/360054147834) from within the tool, granting us access to the engagement and allowing our support team to assist in the formatting.

## Notes/Prerequisites

SAP DaRT (Data Retention Tool) is a program designed to extract and store data from SAP. As a result, the export is typically a zip archive of many files, each representing a table with the same format as a standard SAP ECC or S4/HANA export.

Each table is comprised of two files:

1. TXW_FI_HD (header)
2. TXW_FI_POS (details)

It's worth noting that while the structure is quite similar to that of a GDPdU export, the two formats are not the same and therefore will not produce the desired result when trying to [format GDPdU files](https://support.mindbridge.ai/hc/en-us/articles/16638376071831) in the File Manager. If you know that your client will be providing a SAP DART export, this is a useful piece of information to pass on to the support team and will help expedite the formatting process.
